A useful feature would be to being able to see where in the wave form clipped peaks have been fixed after processing. I use PN with DJ-sets, and so if I can see where there are clipped peaks in my mix (there are no clipped peaks in the individual tracks as these have already been 'healed') I can go back into my mixing software and adjust EQ-levels on these particular places so that eventually PN doesn't recognize any clipped peaks in the set any longer.
At that point the overall loudness should be pretty even throughout the set. Is such a feature (markings on the waveform where clipped peaks have been fixed and maybe also a zoom function for the wave form?) possible to implement?
Best regards /Sheo. I have to say I'm impressed! I sent an email to PN/MIK customer service because I had not received an email with a link for an upgrade. It was literally 6 or so hours and I had a response with the link. AWESOME customer service! The upgrade is definitely worth its title.
I had recently used a default setting when using 2.5 on a future mix i have semi-planned, so when scanning the same batch of tracks with 3.0 I can honestly say its better. Runs/Loads twice as fast or more. PN 2.5 apparently wasn't too bad either, so not much of the batch I was testing was changed(i.e. Pitch adjust, etc) with the exception of the new default volume adjust setting. But it did find a few. Enough to warrant the upgrade or to persuade new buyers. If any of my tracks are out of pitch/key, I want to know about it and this helped.
Hi Guys This might be covering old ground but is there a significant difference in quality if your processed files are in mp3 or wav format. I'm half way through doing a recorded mix for a wedding that will be played on fairly large/loud system. I've tried to use the best quality mp3s I could get my hands on in first place but there are definitely a few that were originally of lower quality. Everything I used I've put through PN2 and the processed file output as 320 mp3.
I haven't had the chance see what it sounds like on a bigger system and am therefore wondering if processing to wav would be more beneficial. The mix has been put together in Ableton and am planning on just playing it though my mac book rather then bouncing it down. Any advice greatly appreciated. Great Product BTW! Cheers Chris. So lets say you finish a track and bounce it or what not get the mp3 file and drag it in and this program will master it for you? It is certainly capable of that, but the default and Festival templates were designed to restore dynamics to tracks that have already been mastered, for use by DJs in their sets.
